Last weekend we headed to Dallas, Texas for the 7th race of the 2012 AMA Supercross season. While the weather wasn't exactly in our favor, it rained pretty much all day, Cowboys stadium couldn't have been a much better venue. Here are a few fun facts you may not know about the stadium. It's the largest domed stadium in the world; it has the 2nd largest HD video screen in the world (the world's largest was recently built at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina); the stadium seats 80,000 people with room for 110,000. Our favorite part of course being the huge screen which made watching the race so much more fun.
Despite the winter storm the autograph signing at our booth in the pits was pretty busy. DC athletes Nate Adams, Trey Canard and Kyle Regal singed autographs steadily for the whole time they were there. While Trey still has a long way to go before he can be back on the bike racing again, it was great to see a big smile on his face and hear all the encouraging words from the fans who came by.
Saturday night marked the beginning of the 2012 East Coast Lites Championships and like many people thought, it's a very talented group of riders. We have four athletes racing in the East Coast Lites series including Malcolm Stewart, Hunter Hewitt, Blake Wharton and PJ Larsen. All made the main event - finishing in 4th (Wharton), 6th (Stewart), 8th (Larsen), and 12th (Hewitt).
This weekend they'll head to Atlanta, GA for the next race in the series! Below are a few of our photos from the weekend, things you wouldn't have seen if you weren't at the race.
